CANCELLATIONS & MISSED LESSONS
You may cancel or pause lessons at any time, but monies already paid will not be refunded. If you must reschedule a lesson, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice (exceptions made for emergencies).
Excused missed lessons will be made up, when possible, at a time mutually agreeable to both the student and teacher. We guarantee make-up lessons for approved absences (not necessarily with the same teacher) on the last Saturday of every calendar month between the hours of noon and 5 pm.
We also offer pre-recorded video lessons as an alternative to an in-person make-up lesson.
INSTRUMENT REQUIREMENTS & RENTALS
To reap the most benefit from your lessons at McCown Conservatory, it is important that you commit to a regular practice schedule and that you have the correct equipment. While it is certainly not necessary to have the most expensive or the best brand name, you do want your instrument to be functional and of decent quality.
Each instrument has its own specifications, and we highly recommend that piano students have regular access to a full-sized keyboard (88 keys) with touch sensitive keys (or a properly maintained acoustic piano).
Although we do not have instruments available to rent at this time, we will be happy offer recommendations for instrument rentals from local providers or to direct you to sources and brand names that you can purchase at reasonable prices.
